End of The Red Letter Challenge. The final chapter read... it's been an interesting journey.Ending with the insightful writings of one of the "sons of thunder" who became "the disciple whom Jesus loved" (his own description of himself). At the end of the Gospel of John, when Jesus appeared to his disciples his words reminded me of Genesis 2:7 "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and BREATHED INTO HIS NOSTRILS THE BREATH OF LIFE, and man became a living being." Jesus' words in John 20:21, 22 are: "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. And with that HE BREATHED ON THEM AND SAID, RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT." The life giver at work - in the beginning - after the resurrection - and now. ...and I'm part of the group he speaks of in John 20:29 ...blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. He's still at it - speaking and breathing life into me, into us - how very, very much is contained in the Easter Celebration... the remembrance that death has been overcome - in all it's shapes and sizes, in all it's threat and destructiveness - by his victory - now all it takes is a breath from him and his life resides and grows in each of us...
